The sanctuary is open year-round. The best days are those with very little wind. Glassy water makes it much easier to spot a dolphin's dorsal fin. For kayaking in the mangroves, aim for high tide.

Practical advice for your day

Always pack polarized sunglasses. They cut through the water's surface glare, making it much easier to spot dolphins from a boat or kayak. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a sun hat, and a reusable water bottle.

If you plan to kayak, store your valuables in a dry bag. Wear comfortable clothes you do not mind getting slightly wet. Light windbreakers are useful out on the open water channels where breezes pick up.
